- Arabahmet Mosque
Arap Ahmet Mosque is the most important religious structure built by Ottomans in Nicosia. Its name comes from Arab Ahmet who was a commander in the Turkish army during the assault of island. Like other Turkish structures Arab Ahmet Mosque was built using the stones of ruins and old houses around. Inside the mosque there is a tomb of Kamil Pasha who is an Grand Vezir in the Ottoman Empire. Kamil Pasha lived between 1832 and 1913 in Nicosia and he was burried in the courtyard of the mosque.
